Mark founded Tauhinu Productions, an educational publishing company, six years ago. Tauhinu Productions produced major works including Fireflies for Oxford University Press in the United Kingdom, and Future Scientists for Macmillan Education in Australia.
Mark is currently undertaking PhD research into elementary reading. He has a Masters Degree in Business Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in English and Education. He also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching and has taught in schools around the world. Mark has been in charge of reading and has also taught children with special needs.
